Boom! at Possilpark Loves Christmas 2022

Earlier this month we took part in one of our favourite events of the year, Possilpark Loves Christmas. It’s always such a brilliant weekend which involves lots of community partners across Possilpark and North Glasgow. Our photographer Martin (Theasis Photography) snapped some great photos of Santa meeting everyone, here are some of our favourites!

For Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th December, we asked Santa to come and visit Possilpark. He brought his best team of elves to help bring some festive cheer to the community:

Rudolph and the reindeers were busy, but George the horse led Santa’s sleigh and he got to meet lots of children:

On Saturday Santa visited Ruchill, Westercommon and Hamiltonhill.

Then on Sunday he visited Possilpark and Hawthorn, meeting loads of wee ones and grown ups too:

From there, Santa led a lantern procession from Millenium Square to Possilpark Parish Church. Lots of lanterns were made by members of the community at our Young Scribblers and Still Scribbling workshops - a proper team effort!

There was loads going on, from fire jugglers to face painting, and of course Santa’s Grotto where he got to meet even more wee ones:

After a fun-filled weekend spreading Christmas cheer, Santa headed back to the North Pole for a well-earned lie down!

Huge thanks go to everyone involved: Glasgow City Council Area Partnership for funding the project, and all those involved in making the lights, Christmas village, presents and workshops happen: St Matthew’s Centre, Possilpark Parish Church, The Concrete Garden / The Back Garden, Young People’s Futures, Canal Youth Forum, Thriving Place Ruchill & Possilpark, Possilpark BID and Possilpark People’s Trust.
