The first half of the class will be used to learn the basic rules of paint, composition, texture and colour mixing. As a group we will be working with acrylic paint, but in this process we will also discuss in comparison how to work with oils. The second half of the class will give participants the opportunity to take elements of the first part of the class and use them to explore their own composition or idea for a painting and build it to a finished piece throughout the term. We aim to provide our class with the confidence and knowledge to continue on their journey developing a visual language and vocabulary that will enhance their future art ventures.

Stockingfield Bridge Project - Litterpicks
As part of our Stockingfield Bridge community art project, which you can read more about here, we are holding two litterpicks along the canal to help to clean up the area and gather metal to be melted down and incorporated into the four paving slabs we are creating to be installed at the bridge, designed using inspiration from drawings by participants of our drawing workshops.
The picsk will take place on Sunday 20th March and Sunday 3rd April at 2-4pm. Meet at Lambhill Stables (11 Canal Bank North, Glasgow G22 6RD). We will provide litterpickers and bags, we just need you! Get in touch on the Boom! phone if you need to contact us on the day - 07897 905229.
Come and join us to contribute to a permanent artwork while making the canal look great!
This project is one of eight community artwork projects being created as part of the new Stockingfield Bridge project being delivered by Scottish Canals with funding from Sustrans, and the Glasgow City Council Vacant Derelict Land Fund.

The drawing sessions will consist of different tasks each week that will focus on the varied aspects of drawing and all play a part in representational drawing. Drawing is the foundation of all types of art that you go on to make, hone your drawing skills and the rest will follow.
