About the role

BOOM! Community Arts (SCIO) believes in the ability of art to transform lives. Since 2017, we have provided community arts activities in the North of Glasgow, particularly the Possil area. We are partly funded (approximately 50%) by the Glasgow Communities Fund until March 2026, and make up the remainder of our budget with a combination of other grants.

Our small administration team consists of a General Manager (2 days a week) and a Marketing & Projects Coordinator (1 day a week), working in collaboration to coordinate BOOM!’s projects and develop the organisation. A team of skilled and experienced artists deliver our year-round programme of workshops with adults, young people and children.

We deliver a regular programme of 130 workshops each year, as well as work in partnership with other local organisations to provide workshops at community events such as the Possilpark Christmas Lights switch on event. We also contribute to events such as Glasgow Science Festival and the Scottish Wild Food Festival and create public art commissions such as for the Stockingfield Bridge. Our work is highly valued by our participants, improving wellbeing through exploring creativity while socialising and connecting with local community.

Building on our existing work and good reputation, we aim to grow our presence in the area, strengthen key relationships and work towards serving more people. This is where you’ll come in! You’ll be a great communicator, solutions-focussed and good with detail. You’ll be highly organised, motivated and have a commitment to working with communities.
