More Scribbling - Summer Workshops

Artist Pearl Kinnear will lead this ten week block of workshops – Sunday morning at 11am-1pm, on Sunday 16th May and finishing Sunday 18th July, for 10 workshops.

The drawing block will be aimed at teaching drawing using Conté sticks (also known as Conté crayons) which are a drawing medium composed of compressed powdered graphite or charcoal mixed with a wax or clay base, square in cross-section. Conte crayons produce a similar effect to charcoal, except that - being harder - they can create finer lines as well as shading and broad tonal areas and in a wide variety of shades of black, white, grey and earthy pigments

Over the 10 weeks we hope that everyone will show an improvement from the first week to the last in our block. As artists we are always learning, but this is a foundation to help participants see progress in quite a short time.

The drawing sessions will consist of different tasks each week that will focus on the varied aspects of drawing and all play a part in representational drawing. Drawing is the foundation of all types of art that you go on to make, hone your drawing skills and the rest will follow.
