BOOM! at Possilpark Loves Christmas 2021

We were absolutely delighted to be part of Possilpark Loves Christmas again for 2021.  It’s really one of our favourite events to be involved in, and this year was no exception.

Sadly, due to Covid, George the Horse couldn’t be with us, but Tam’s Rickshaw came to the rescue!  And so on Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th December, Santa and his elves set off round Ruchill, Hamiltonhill, Westercommons, Hawthorn and Possilpark to spread some Christmas cheer, and a few treats for local kids.  We were also hosting lantern workshops with Young People’s Futures, and the Back Garden, and More Scribbling also happened - busy weekend!

Our photographer Martin (Theasis Photography) captured the weekend’s fun and we’re very happy to show the photos here.

On Sunday afternoon we headed to Saracen Street, and led a brilliant group of folks to the Christmas village at Millennium Square, where Santa held court and passed out presents to some eager wee ones keen to meet him.  There was singing, dancing, and fire performance as well as stalls from local groups.

Millennium Square is a great events space - we really hope to see it used more for this kind of thing in the future.

Santa said to pass on his thanks to everyone who waved, shouted, danced and sang with him as he visited - and he hopes that you have a great Christmas and Hogmanay!

Huge thanks go to everyone involved: Glasgow City Council Area Partnership for funding the project, and all those involved in making the lights, Christmas village, presents and workshops happen: St Matthew’s Centre, The Concrete Garden / The Back Garden, Young People’s Futures, Thriving Place Ruchill & Possilpark, Possilpark BID, Possilpark People’s Trust, Allied Vehicles, NG Homes, Allied Vehicles, Carnival Arts, Elsewhere Events,
