ABOUT US
Boom! Community Arts (SCIO) was awarded charitable status in 2017. We provide community arts opportunities in the north of Glasgow, particularly the Possil area, and believe in the ability of art to transform lives. We were delighted to be awarded money from the Glasgow Communities Fund (GCF) to support an expanded programme of adult and youth workshops until Spring 2023. This funding also allowed us to hire a part time freelance Project Coordinator in order to help our organisation grow and become more sustainable. Our current Project Coordinator has moved on to a new full time role, and so we are now looking for a new member of our team.
Since our inception we have run regular adult and youth workshops, working in partnership with other organisations in the area. We also provide workshops at community events (such as community meals), and have had groups participate in large events such as Glasgow Christmas Carnival, and the Possilpark Christmas Lights switch on event. We know that these experiences have been highly valued by our participants.
Our Project Coordinator is key in helping us to move forward. Building on our existing work, we would like to grow our presence in the area, strengthen key relationships, and work toward serving more people. This is where you’ll come in. You’ll be a great communicator, solution-focussed, and good with detail. You’ll be highly organised, and have a commitment to working with communities.
