Pom poms

Here’s a tutorial to make your own pom poms

Things you’ll need:

• Wool

• Scissors

• A fork

• Googly eyes (optional)

Instructions:

• Hold the end of the wool between your thumb and hand and wrap the continuous end around your 4 fingers may times until you have enough for your pom pom, at a guess maybe 40-50 rounds.

• Carefully take the wool off your hand ensuring that it stays together in its loopy bundle

• Use the long end to wrap tightly round the middle of the loopy bundle a few times, it is important to makes sure this is as tight as possible

• Tie off, tightly, using the short end of the wool

• Cut the soon-to-be pom pom from the rest of the ball of wool, leave a long tail so you can attach your pom pom to something, if you wish

• Cut the loops of your loopy bundle to make your bundle into a pom pom

• Fluff up your pom pom, there maybe some wooly bits that need trimmed to make your pom pom nice and round

• If you have googly eyes, now is the time to attach them

• If you want to make tiny pom poms wrap the wool around your fork instead of your hand, and tie tightly while the wool is still on the fork, and then trim as before

• Repeat process until you have all the pom poms you want
